Okay then, Who is Ðuane? What can he make for me??
Hi! I’m Ðuane, and what I can make for you is as broad ranging and diverse as my background.
Currently I’m focusing on Websites, Solid Models, and 3D prints.
I’ve also done some metal fabrication in the past, automotive personalization and customization, and worked in an engineering capacity in many different industries.
That all sounds very impressive, but what does it actually mean?
It means that if you need a website built for whatever reason, I can help you build it. I can also show you how to edit it, update it, and keep it running smoothly. Or you’d prefer not to mess with it, I can do all the upkeep, changes and updates for you.
It means that if you need an object designed in cad, I can create it for you in digital space. If you have a sketch, or some rough dimensions, or can describe to me what you’re imagining in enough detail, I can create it for you in 3d.
It means that if you need an object already designed in cad (either from my design or something found online) made from plastic, I can “print” it for you in the real world. Many many MANY models exist on the web already, I can print many of these models for you using my 3d printer. (size limitations exist, but can be worked around)
Have you designed many things before?
I have! My formal education in Mechanical Engineering and Technology began at Kent State in 2003.
One of the very first classes I took was on 3d computer aided drafting (also known as “Solid Modeling”), and most of my professional career since has included some form of solid modeling. Around the same time, I was taking programming classes that included web design. That’s over 20 years!
Okay, What about the 3d printing side?
Again, my first exposure to “additive manufacturing” was more than 20 years ago. This was very different from the devices we have access to today. I currently have a printer with an envelope of about a cubic foot. it’s relatively quick, and significantly better than anything I had access to back then. Resolution is pretty good, and it’s been pretty reliable.
Do you have any examples?
Sure! If you’d Like to see an example of a website I built, please point your browser to www.ashtabulafence.com
(Bonus points for you if you also need a fence!)
